Family Entertainment Comes As Standard in Dubai

Picture the scene. You wake up to another glorious day of sunshine and bright blue skies. After breakfast you, your partner and children take a short stroll to Jumeirah Beach and while away a few hours soaking up the famous Middle East rays, or, you opt for one of the beautiful pools with dedicated kids section, shaded areas and fun waterslides. Or, you leave your little ones well-looked after and entertained at the kids club while you take a romantic stroll on the beach or hit the town. What you do next is really down to personal preference, but believe us when we say there’s no limit to the choices that can be made when looking to have fun, and make lasting family memories while in Dubai.
How about hitting the slopes at Ski Dubai? The first indoor ski resort in the world is far more than simply snowsports under a roof. Themed on an Alpine mountain, think wooden lodges clustered together at the bottom of a number of runs suited to various ability levels, all on a scale that makes you forget this complex is indoors, and artificial. A must-see for any fan of wintry locales, not to mention those looking to meet the resident colony of penguins; something you don’t find in the desert every day.
There’s more to Dubai Mall than shopping alone, too. Sure, the place is home to more retail options than is humanly possible to list in any short space of time, but this is also a great destination for those in search of experiences and endless entertainment. The 155million-year-old dinosaur skeleton is a marvel in itself, as is the giant octopus that never fails to impress, along with its neighbour, the intimidating but fascinating King Croc, both found inside the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, also home to the famous shark tunnel. The Dubai Mall is also home to the large SEGA Republic, a world of arcade fun for gamers of all ages with 14 thrilling attractions and cutting-edge motion simulators the likes of which you’ll see nowhere else.
KidZania, also inside the Dubai Mall, can’t be overlooked, either. One of a number of sites across the world, this is a unique experience because it puts children in control of everything by placing them in a role play situation that mimics the activities grown-ups do every day (well, OK, not the stressful ones). Your little ones can be a doctor for the day, a fireman, journalist, beautician and a whole list of other professions, interacting with the environment and learning what life will be like for them in years to come. A whole new concept for educational entertainment.
The smallest of tots are also well catered for with malls having dedicated soft play areas, with bouncy castles, kiddy rides, soft play areas, soft Lego blocks, elastic beds, slides, fun labyrinths with educational games and so much more!
Needless to say, there’s plenty more on offer besides. Two of the best waterparks on the planet are here – Aquaventure and Wild Wadi – both offering unparalleled fun, games, and, of course, plenty of splashes. Meanwhile it’s impossible for anyone to forget an afternoon spent cruising the sand dunes in a 4x4, an activity the whole family will enjoy. And last but not least, as if all this weren’t enough family-friendly entertainment, there’s also the Dubai Ice Rink, where you can skate to your hearts delight on a rink of Olympic proportions, play ice hockey, enjoy a fun disco skating session and see your little ones put on the blades for the first time and learn to skate with the aid of Penguin Pals.
Take your pick then, and why not do some of your own research and add to our rundown. After all, Dubai’s frantic building pace never slows down. Dubai is a place where the unexpected can be found around every corner, and therefore there’s no end to the incredible escapades on offer for all ages to enjoy.
