Dubai's best hotel swimming pools

Finding the perfect place for a refreshing swim is a must when taking a holiday to Dubai. Here, we introduce you to some of the emirate's best hotel swimming pools, including kids' pools perfect for little ones keen to splash out, and relaxing, tranquil spots for couples looking to unwind.

Dubai's best hotel swimming pools

Dubai is famous for its sunny and warm climate, which means there's one must when choosing a hotel here: a good swimming pool. Fortunately, there are plenty of hotels that offer excellent pools, from ultra-luxurious infinity pools perfect for couples, to fun-packed options that'll pack a punch with families.

To help you find the right place for you, we have put together a quick list of the best hotel swimming pools in the emirate.

Tranquil pools for couples and honeymooners

When it comes to relaxation and romance, not all swimming pools are created equal. The following are among the most tranquil in Dubai, and so are perfect for couples and honeymooners.

  • Burj Al Arab Jumeirah

    Burj Al Arab Jumeirah

Famous for its iconic architecture and being the world's most luxurious hotel, the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah doesn't disappoint when it comes to pools either. Here, you and your partner can indulge in some of the most soothing swims you're ever likely to experience in the on-site Talise Spa.

Indeed, there are two infinity pools here (one is unisex and the other ladies-only), which both offer simply stunning views. There are romantic moonlight swimming experiences available too. However, do bear in mind that you need to be a hotel guest to take a dip in the pools here - but, as the Burj Al Arab as a whole is ideal for couples and honeymooners, there's a good chance it will be on your list of ideal places to stay already!

  • Al Maha Desert Resort

    Al Maha Desert Resort

The ultra-luxurious desert resort of Al Maha Desert Resort is a wonderful destination for couples. Here, water lovers will find a grand total of 43 infinity pools; each one is attached to its own suite. This means you can personally control the temperature of your pool and enjoy a little privacy. The main pool, meanwhile, is also beautiful, with its desert views and swaying palm trees.

  • Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa

Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa

Another desert resort, Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa is a five-star resort built in the style of a lavish Arabian fort. Its star swimming pool is, as you'd expect, suitably spectacular - an infinity pool heated to a balmy 28 to 30 degrees C, complete with lovely desert views. There are two other pools here, but it's the infinity pool that's bound to stand out most for couples seeking relaxation and romance.

Kid-friendly pools

If you're travelling with children, you'll no doubt be on the lookout for hotels with a good family-friendly pool. A dedicated children's pool, which allows for safe splashing about, is usually best, and there are some excellent options to choose from.

  • Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina

Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina

This family-friendly hotel boasts not one but two swimming pools, making it a guaranteed hit among younger travellers. What's more, one of these pools is complete with its very own water slide, which is bound to make it a particular favourite among the more daring children in your brood. It's worth bearing in mind that the hotel's main pool has a swim-up bar too, so there's something for mum and dad to enjoy while little ones burn off some energy!

  • Anantara the Palm Dubai

    Anantara the Palm Dubai

This fantastic family hotel has it all - including one of the very best swimming pools in the emirate. In fact, it's marketed as a "swimmable lagoon", and with its sandy beach areas, we think that's a fair description. It really captures kids' imaginations, especially as there's a Thai boat that glides around the water providing snacks to the swimmers.

The best of both worlds

Of course, sometimes you want the best of both worlds - a dedicated kids' pool where your children can splash about to their heart's content, and a swimming pool where you and your partner can indulge in a little rest and relaxation. Here are a few of the hotels that offer a good balance:

  • Atlantis, the Palm

    Atlantis, the Palm<

This is one of the best hotels in Dubai for balancing the needs of parents and kids. When it comes to swimming pools, the Royal Pool is an absolutely lovely spot for parents, exuding tranquility. This calm spot provides great views across the Dubai skyline and the Palm as well.

When you want to spend some quality time with the kids, you can switch to the Zero Entry Pool. Designed to be kid-friendly, it offers a variety of family activities and has plenty of places to eat nearby, making it a great choice for a fun-filled afternoon.

  • Jumeirah Zabeel Saray

    Jumeirah Zabeel Saray

This great hotel provides some excellent swimming pools for families. Mums and dads can treat themselves to a relaxing dip in the 59-metre infinity pool fringed by palm trees and sun loungers, which overlooks the Arabian Gulf - a real oasis of calm. For the children, there is a dedicated kids' pool that's handily located by Sinbad's Kids Club.

  • JA Ocean View Hotel

    JA Ocean View Hotel

Set on Dubai Marina, this gorgeous hotel has a great location near a host of attractions, but the on-site facilities are so good that you might be tempted not to leave this resort. In terms of swimming pools, for the adults there's an excellent temperature-controlled infinity pool that provides lovely sea views. And for the kids, there's a dedicated children's pool that's wonderfully shady - perfect for making sure your little ones don't catch the sun.

Excellent swimming in Dubai

Whether you're keen to relax and unwind, let the kids burn off some energy, or a little bit of both, Dubai's great range of hotel swimming pools has got you covered. So, when you're choosing where to stay and what to do, remember to think about which swimming pools you'd like to cool off in, and make them a part of your holiday to Dubai.
