Six Dubai hotels for a luxurious wedding abroad

Weddings abroad have been gaining popularity over recent years, with more couples than ever choosing to tie the knot in exotic locations around the globe. Beyond the typical sunkissed Caribbean beaches; not as many couples as you'd think consider magical and wondrous Dubai, with all of the tropical beach appeal plus an added touch of extravagance few other destinations in the world can match. Here we list seven of the best hotels to get married in Dubai, in style.

Six Dubai hotels for a luxurious wedding abroad

There certainly are many exotic locations around the world in which to get married, but probably none as swanky and extravagantly luxurious as Dubai. With a long list of world firsts, including spectacular chains of man-made islands, the globe’s tallest tower and the first ever Armani Hotel; Dubai is certainly a wedding destination full of potential with an added sprinkle of magic and glamour.

An article recently published on Ella Hoy, lists six hotels ideal for hosting spectacular weddings in Dubai. If your wedding budget can stretch that far and your purse strings aren’t tight then you can envisage yourself tying the knot at one of the following exclusive Dubai hotels:

Six hotels ideal for hosting spectacular weddings in Dubai

  1. Atlantis, the Palm

One of the world’s most luxurious hotels, poised in its own stretch of artificial island (part of the chain of manmade islands that make up The Palm) this mega resort, complete with its own waterpark and dolphinarium is indeed a special place for tying the knot. With exquisite banquet halls that are stunningly transformed into lavish wedding receptions and stunning locations that include a private beach, gardens and a full-size indoor aquarium – your imagination is the limit. At Atlantis, the Palm they also have a specialised wedding team with a selection of themed wedding packages starting from 275 AED (around £58) per person with all the extra trimmings you could desire offered at an extra cost.

  2. Ritz Carlton

Also located in The Palm Jumeirah, this ultra-luxurious resort boasts six outdoor pools, private beach and impressive facilities. When it comes to weddings, they certainly are not one to be outdone with outdoor venues like the Beachside Wedding Pavilion for ceremonies overlooking the Gulf and the Loulou’A Ballroom.

With capacity for up to 550 guests and customised chef-crafted menus, it hosts the most special of seated receptions. In addition, brides and grooms also get special dedicated treatments at The Ritz-Carlton Spa. There are five themed wedding packages to choose from and they start at 280 AED per person.

  3. Jumeirah Zabeel Saray

Home to the Middle East’s largest hammam (Turkish bath) and fittingly inspired by the opulent palatial grandeur of the Ottoman era, this visually stunning hotel does everything with superior style, including weddings, although no specific wedding packages per se are offered here (they are arranged by the Jumeirah group though and we’re sure they can make arrangements to host your wedding here). The lavish rooms and suites are no doubt idyllic for post-wedded honeymooners, while your eyes will struggle to find the line dividing the hotel’s infinity pool and the waters of the Arabian Gulf beyond.

  4. Jumeirah Al Qasr

Like the one mentioned above, this hotel also belongs to the Jumeirah group and as such wedding arrangements are made through them and not directly through the hotel, although you can indeed choose this hotel as your wedding venue. Why is it an ideal setting for a wedding, you ask? Well, to start with the hotel sits overlooking a two-kilometre stretch of private beach and beautifully landscaped gardens with beautiful water features make for the most stunning wedding pictures. Everyone will be envious of your wedding album for sure.

  5. Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi

Perfectly overlooking a secluded private stretch of Jumeirah Beach that extends over 1,200 metres, this grand resort is one of the most beautiful and lavish without being too over the top. Weddings here are no doubt a magical affair. With no less than five pools and eight restaurants boasting an array of world cuisines, the wedding packages here certainly don’t lag behind in terms of choice and luxury.

Brides and grooms are provided with every tool to craft the most perfect of fairy tale weddings with the hotel’s dedicated Wedding Specialist helping every step of the way and consulting with you every little move and detail so that the big day turns out to be exactly the way you envisaged. The Heavenly Spa by Westin is a good place for bride and groom to appease those pre-wedding jitters and to indulge in once they’re lawfully wedded.

  6. Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel

Last yet certainly not least by any standards, we have this towering hotel made up of two tall buildings and boasting a scenic location over the Dubai Marina, sprawling golf courses and Jumeirah Beach. It’s one of the city’s finest hotels where ultra-luxury is redefined and where each room comes with its personal butler.

When it comes to weddings they’re not ones to be outdone either and they offer a fine selection of locations with the most striking vistas. The wedded-to-be can choose from sunset or night-time weddings against bright city lights or opt for sweeping marina views in bright daylight. For a magnificently regal wedding reception the aptly Windsor Gallery and Windsor Ballroom will leave wedding guests gasping in awe – from ornate chandeliers and Arabian-inspired elegant touches to the highly-polished marble floors of the open-plan ballroom. Add to this the fact that dishes are prepared by Michelin-starred chefs from the world over and you have utter perfection with added extravagance.

The verdict on the selection

Beside the two hotels that stand out (namely, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray and Jumeirah Al Qasr) and struck us as odd for not having wedding packages in place (at least not featured on their official web pages), this list no doubt comprises a fine selection of Dubai hotels, where you either can get married in or at the very least find inspiration for planning a luxurious Dubai wedding with all the trimmings.

Yet, we feel they're not enough and at least another two stand out for providing bespoke wedding packages and deserve to be mentioned in the Dubai wedding ranking, which takes us to our next section...

Plus two - Jumeirah Beach Hotel and One&Only Royal Mirage

Although the previous list of idyllic Dubai hotels is indeed inspiring, I felt there were two more exceptional Dubai hotels with stunning wedding venues and to-die-for wedding packages that should have been included too.

One such is the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, an icon gracing Jumeirah Beach and the only one in the city that can call itself a sister property of the world´s only self-proclaimed 7-star hotel, the Burj Al Arab, which grandiosely sits just next door. Apart from all guests staying at this superb property, enjoying complimentary access to the Wild Wadi water park, brides and grooms can arrange the most spectacular of beachfront weddings and garden weddings, as well as exquisite indoor and outdoor locations for the wedding feast. In fact, you can have your wedding banquet right by beach, against the magical backdrop of the magnificent Burj Al Arab.

If all the above wasn´t enticing enough to make you wish for a wedding here, the neatly arranged variety of wedding packages ought to do it. You can pick from a selection of themes and styles to suit your personalities and perfectly match the way you envisioned your special day to be. If you opt for either of the three wedding packages on offer (Romance, Elegance and Enchantment) you will enjoy a host of inclusions on top, from 3-tier to 5-tier wedding cakes to complimentary wedding nights, limousine transfers, flowers, a 10 per cent of guests on a complimentary basis and even LCD projectors with massive screens. The only catch? You need a minimum of 350 guests to apply for either of these wedding packages. Alternatively, if you plan for a more intimate affair, you can custom-make your special day and coordinate it with the hotel´s dedicated wedding planner.

The One&Only Royal Mirage is the other one very special Dubai location where weddings can be as intimate or extravagant as you like. Whether big or small, weddings organised here are truly a sublime affair with plenty of luxurious details added. They do make this promise to the-wedded-to-be: “Timeless opulence. Exquisite Celebrations”. And, indeed, they do deliver.

Just by glancing through the photographs of the hotel’s five grand wedding locations you get an idea the kind of glamorous weddings immaculately arranged here – from the stunning Palace Gardens, beautifully set along a narrow water feature and lit with hundreds of candles to Al Koufa Fortress Amphitheatre, yet another outdoor location hosting a maximum of 200 wedding guests. For more private affair the Al Montazah indoor room hosts up to 70 guests and long tables exquisitely dressed with lavish touches while the outdoor Peregrine Courtyard offers an enchanting Arabic setting with floor cushions around low tables with capacity for up to 100 guests. To dance the wedding nerves away The Royal Ballroom is the grandest of spaces with private entrances large enough to drive in cars!

To top it all, the One&Only Royal Mirage Dubai also offers special inclusions such as personalised flower arrangements, a gazebo for the exchanging of vows ceremony, guest chairs neatly arranged facing said gazebo with chair covers to match, a red carpet leading to the ceremony area, scented cold face towels as well as a fruit cocktail and water served on arrival…Could you ask for more? In case you could, they’d certainly be eager to please and arrange for it.

And that finally wraps up our list, of not 6 but 8 stunning Dubai hotels in which to host the most unforgettable of weddings, with every luxury included.
