Shawafel

Anyone who is looking to grab something filling in a hurry should make a beeline to Shawafel at Atlantis, The Palm. The Lebanese style restaurant offers a uniquely Middle Eastern take on fast food with shawarma wraps, crunchy falafel and hummus all served up in double quick time.

Handily located near the entrance to the Aquaventure water park, Shawafel offers visitors a convenient place to refuel after splashing around in the sun. It is in The Avenues market section of the man-made Palm island, meaning that visitors can build a full day of swimming and shopping, with a pit stop at Shawafel in-between.

Street food is a key part of Arab culture across the Middle East. Shawarma wraps and falafel offer a fun, tasty way to eat while on the move. Shawafel offers these traditional street foods from a modern fast food style restaurant. It provides customers with a delicious, reasonably priced and authentically Arab approach to takeaway food.

Lebanese shawarma wraps can be ordered with a variety of fillings, including chicken and lamb. The wraps also come with falafel and fries for a satisfying meal. Falafel fatoush can also be ordered, with crunchy falafel served in a bucket of pickles, turnip and radishes, drizzled with a delicious dressing. Regardless of whether a diner takes the shawarma or the falafel fatoush option, they are likely to leave feeling satisfied by the hearty portions.

The restaurant also has a range of desserts, including chocolate mousse brownies, for diners who want to finish their meal with something sweet. Milkshakes are available along with a variety of other soft drinks.

The dress code at Shawafel is relaxed as you would expect from a fast food restaurant. The only restrictions are that swim wear is not allowed inside the restaurant and at least a shirt, shorts and some kind of footwear must be worn.

Diners can sit inside the restaurant for a slightly quieter, more relaxed meal, or out in the street if they want to keep soaking up the exciting bustle of the market.

Dubai's biggest hotel, Atlantis, the Palm, is located nearby. This gives those visiting the area access to a wide range of luxurious amenities.

Complimentary valet parking is available to visitors to The Avenues who arrive by car. This makes a shopping trip with a tasty falafel based interlude an enticingly easy proposition.
