Located in the Dubai Hilton, Table 9 has made an enormous impact on the city's culinary scene since its opening in 2011. It has since received numerous awards from a variety of different food critics naming the restaurant as one of the best in the region.
Table 9 established a reputation for excellence immediately. Its founding fathers were Nick Alvis and Scott Price, two chefs who made their mark while working for Gordon Ramsay. The standards set by the menu at Table 9 led to the duo being named as chefs of the year by several publications during 2012 and 2013.
The restaurant is currently run by Darren Velvick, another protege of Gordon Ramsay who made a name for himself while working under Marcus Wareing at the two Michelin-starred Berkeley in London. Velvick's approach to cooking puts an up to the minute spin on classic European flavour combinations. The restaurant's attention to detail will ensure that even the most exacting foodie is thrilled by the contents of their plate.
Diners at Table 9 can choose between a two or three course menu, or else select from the four or six course tasting menu. There is also a seven course option that is served at the Chef's Table. This table looks into the kitchen and the food is served by the chefs themselves, giving diners the opportunity to discuss the various dishes that they are about to enjoy.
The menu at the chef's table varies from day to day. The elegantly presented dishes available throughout the menus at Table 9 give a special emphasis to fresh, seasonal vegetables. The restaurant's staff are happy to advise on the best wines to accompany the meal. No food is prepared with either alcohol or pork.
There is also a private dining room that features floor to ceiling windows and its own private bar. This makes a perfect venue for wedding receptions, birthdays and other celebrations. The food and beverages available in the private dining room can be tailored to suit the occasion.
