Al Ghurair Centre

Not just a great place for some retail therapy, but also a key part of Dubai's modern development. In a city that is famous for its shopping malls, Al Ghurair was the first. The mall has been thoroughly upgraded to keep it fresh and contains a range of famous international retailers, restaurants and facilities.

Any visitor to Dubai who wants to understand how the city has developed in recent decades should pay a visit to the Al Ghurair Centre. The mall was the first of its kind in the Middle East and was built on an empty plot of land to serve the exploding population of Dubai. It was soon setting records as a retail destination and paved the way for the gigantic malls that were to follow.

Al Ghurair was modernised and expanded in 2013 to allow it to keep pace with the many other malls that are now strewn across the city. The shopping centre features more than 100 additional shops, including internationally famous retailers like Marks and Spencer, Swarovski, BHS and the Early Learning Centre. It also has a new luxury hotel and serviced apartments attached to the main shopping area.

The redesigned mall has enormous skylights that flood the main shopping area with light. State of the art water features gently gurgle and splash in the background to create a relaxing shopping environment. It is decorated in a chic, contemporary style that complements the fashionable retailers that populate the centre.

The mall has an eight screen cinema as well as Sparky's, a new family entertainment centre that can hold its head up alongside anything offered by any other mall in the city. The entertainment centre features a range of exciting rides and attractions that will keep children engrossed during their visit to Al Ghurair.

There is also a full range of dining options offering cuisines from around the world and including world famous brands like Nando's and Papa John's. Ice cream shops, snack bars and coffee shops ensure that shoppers are always well catered for whether they want a full meal or a quick snack.

The mall offers a range of services to help guests get to the shops that they want to visit. These include multilingual staff, directories printed in English, Arabic, Mandarin and Russian, and wheelchairs. There is also a currency exchange service that is provided for the convenience of visitors.

Free WiFi is available throughout the Al Ghurair Centre.
